Flight Deck Automation Issues

The Flight Deck Automation Issues (FDAI) Website includes a searchable database containing over 1000 records of data that support or refute 94 potential automation issues. You can search the entire database for specific words or, you can limit your search to a subset of the database by using the drop down menu titled "Within:". You can also use the "Quick Links" to see various sets of data. This website lets you work with Resources, Evidence, and Issues.


Resources
Resources are the entire body of automation-related documents and information that was analyzed and included in the database. The types of resources include:
  • Accidents,
  • Incident Studies,
  • Experiments,
  • Surveys, and
  • Observational Studies.
These resources are the sources of the Evidence we have captured that either support or refute potential flight deck automation Issues.

Evidence records include excerpts of information that were found within the Resources. These excerpts have been analyzed and classified by flight deck automation Issue. Each piece of evidence contains data that either supports or refutes an Issue.
